Even though I believe America has been the greatest nation in world history, and even though we get little to no thanks for our unsurpassed efforts in keeping world peace, I'm disappointed in the title Mitt Romney chose for his upcoming book. No Apology? Such brashness will increase book sales, but the proposition that we shouldn't apologize for any of our mistakes (as relatively mild as they've been) will only drain our power in the long run.
I was hoping for a more nuanced argument.

Agreed. So much for the meek inheriting the Earth. I guess we have to take it for ourselves with "no apology."
Watching the political career of Mitt Romney so far has been a bit like watching an intriguing TV series go off the tracks and fall apart. He went from a Blue-state Republican that had tried innovative policies and gotten stuff done to another shrill voice jockeying for position in the GOP with the likes of Huckabee, Palin, etc. Probably the most brilliant economic mind of all the Republican contenders, and he was constantly fretting about his image.
Maybe he was always this way. But I still can't think that here was a conservative leader who could have shifted how GOP politics are done only to become just another face in the political crowd.
Nuance is considered "moderate." Don't expect too much nuance or compromise coming from the GOP pack in 2012. Even otherwise intelligent and talented politician (like Romney) have to hide their intelligence or risk being blasted as a RINO, intellectual (I can hear Ms. Palin saying it now), or moderate.
I've already mourned the loss of Romney; his attempt to dance right during the 2008 campaign was grotesque.
Romney briefly considered the slightly more nuanced title of "No apology for most of the things the liberal establishment thinks we should be sorry for" but it was spilling over onto the back cover... :)
